Refyn
Collaborative code review platform

Overview
A full-stack code review platform with visual side-by-side diffs, line-level commenting and majority-based approval workflows, plus AI-powered reviews via Llama 3.3 70B on Groq.
Architecture & system design
React frontend on Vercel, Node.js/Express backend on Render in Docker, MongoDB for reviews and comments. GitHub integration connects repositories and imports pull requests as reviews. Automated analyzers run in a background job queue with retry logic; Nodemailer sends registration and review-finalization emails.
Key deliverables
- Side-by-side colour-coded diffs with line-level comments and majority-based approvals
- AI reviews via Llama 3.3 70B on Groq: diff summaries, risk detection, test generation and code explanation
- GitHub integration to connect repos and import pull requests directly
- Automated analyzers for complexity, security vulnerabilities and refactoring patterns
- Dark/light theme with pastel gradients, a twinkling starfield and scroll-reactive Three.js 3D
- Email notifications through Nodemailer; frontend on Vercel, backend on Render with Docker
Engineering decisions
Built the platform end to end. I moved code analysis and AI review calls into a background job queue with retries so a slow model call never blocks the reviewer, and used majority-based approval so no single reviewer can block or force-merge a change.
